I had an excellent experience at Culebra Smiles, especially after dealing with ongoing TMJ-related pain that I had been suffering with for nearly two weeks. I came in uncomfortable, frustrated, and unsure of what was causing the pain. From the moment I arrived, the front office staff was attentive, kind, and welcoming. They helped set the tone for a smooth visit and immediately made me feel supported and at ease. Dr. Benavides and his team were outstanding. Dr. Benavides was thorough, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to evaluate what was really going on, explained the findings in a way that made sense, and outlined a clear plan to address both my TMJ pain and the underlying dental issues. For the first time in weeks, I felt relief and confidence knowing I was finally being heard and properly evaluated. I also want to specifically recognize Brett for an excellent dental cleaning. He was extremely informative, explained everything he was doing, and truly listened to my concerns and pain issues. During this visit, I also realized that my previous dental clinic had not consistently performed or communicated periodontal measurements over time something Brett took the time to explain thoroughly and clearly. That education alone was invaluable and helped me better understand my oral health. The x-ray Dental technician was also amazing very knowledgeable, professional, and gentle, especially considering how uncomfortable I was when I arrived. They explained the imaging process clearly and made sure I was comfortable throughout. Another thing I truly appreciated was that the team did not use pressure-based sales tactics. There was no push to replace fillings “just because” or upsell costly cosmetic changes without clear clinical need especially important given the potential risk of triggering dental pain when unnecessary work is done. Instead, recommendations were thoughtful, evidence-based, and focused on my actual oral health and comfort. Additionally, Robert, the Clinic Manager, deserves special recognition. During the billing phase, he took the time to walk me through everything with patience, clarity, and genuine kindness. His approach was very human and reassuring, which made a stressful moment feel manageable. The difference compared to my previous experience at 7 to 7 Alamo Ranch was truly night and day. At Culebra Smiles, I felt heard, supported, and genuinely cared for from start to finish. I’m truly grateful to Dr. Benavides and the entire Culebra Smiles team. If you’re looking for a dental office that prioritizes patient comfort, clear communication, ethical recommendations, and compassionate, high-quality care, I highly recommend them.
